About Us

With its main office located in Marion 015, The Science Students’ Association of the University of Ottawa is a long-standing establishment within not only the Faculty of Science but also the Student Federation. Over three decades old, its original purpose was to serve as a social foundation for Science students to mingle and meet their colleagues. Now, several years later, the SSA has branched out significantly to include more services and access to resources for the Science student body in an attempt to make their university experience more enjoyable. Currently composed of 15 executive members and a supporting general council the SSA strives to represent all students at the undergraduate level in the Faculty of Science.

Academically, The SSA has organized Science speaker nights, Science Games and is currently in the process of establishing an up to date data bank of old course exams for reference purposes.

Socially, The SSA is known to organize a varity of events including the Science 101 week, the legendary Veterans Tour, the annual Mont Tremblant Ski Trip, and the annual Science Formal.

This year will see great changes for the SSA as renovations to the SSA-owned Marion Common Room and the main office will be paid for in part by the Association (to be completed September 2008). We look forward to seeing you there!
