SASS- Student Academic Success Service

SASS offers a multitude of school-related services for students in any dicipline, incluidng a writing help centre, experiential learning service, access service for students with disabilities, career services, and a mentorship program.

Science Buddies / Tes Copains en Sciences

Located in Gendron 071, Science Buddies is a service hosted by upper-year student mentors and faculty members. Geared towards new science students, they'll help anyone with questions or concerns about courses, time management, and adapting to university life in general.

SFUO:

Student Federation of the University of Ottawa
The SFUO acts as a student union for all Undergraduate students at the University of Ottawa. Its purpose is to ensure that your voice as an undergraduate student is heard, and acknowledged amongst the University Administration. The SFUO also provides an array of services to improve the quality of student life on campus. Links to these services are provided below for your convenience.

	Pivik As the oldest SFUO business, the Pivik is there to provide students with an affordable and central location where they can buy basic food and household items. the Pivik offers a wide variety of products including bus tickets and passes, stamps, phone cards, school supplies, groceries and snacks.

SFUO Services:

	Pride Centre Established to respond to the needs of the university community on matters of queer issues, pertaining mainly to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, two spirited, trans, intersex and questioning community.

	International House The primary function of the International House is to promote culture awareness within the University of Ottawa and provide cultural and social activities for international and Canadian students.

	Foot Patrol Provides a safe environment for all students, staff and visitors walking home from the University at night. They work in conjunction with Protection Services to promote awareness of personal safety.

	Peer Help Centre Provides the student community with academic, psychological, and social support and guidance. Our services include tutor referral, active listening, conversational tutoring, workshops, high school mentoring and a resource center.

	Center for Students with Disabilities The CSD strives to promote the independence of students with disabilities on campus. We encourage students to advocate for their own needs creating an atmosphere in which students can share their knowledge and experiences.

	Bon Appetit Bon Appétit! is a student-run food bank that exists to ensure that our student population doesn’t go hungry. Since students should never have to choose between books and groceries, we have designed this center to help you out when needed.

	Bilingualism Center This brand new SFUO service focuses on three main points: culture, education and lobbying. Its mandate and services will serve to promote the importance of bilingualism, to facilitate access to the bilingualism services and to offer a variety of support resources. The Center will also be responsible for organizing numerous social events and to give a voice to students who want to express opinions on bilingualism on campus.

	Student Appeals Center Having trouble with a professor? Feel you desserve a better grade? Need help fighting for your rights? The Student Appeal Center can help! If you are experiencing problems of a non-academic nature of the SFUO will do whatever is within its power to help, or direct you to the proper resources.

	Centre for Equity and Human Rights The Centre for Equity and Human Rights provides support, information and guidance to students in matters relating to sexual assault, any form of harassment or discrimination, hate crimes or misconduct issues at the University. The Advocate also plays an active role in raising awareness about discrimination and harassment, and promoting a safe and respectful campus.
