Fall Events!!
NEW - Science Coffee House
Get your tickets in Marion 023 (Basement) for 4$ before November 26th or 5$ at the door on the 26th.
Watch people perform, chill with your friends, or just come to meet new people.

Shinerama Golf Tournament!!
Golf anyone?
We've got another awesome fundraiser for Shinerama in the making! A golf tournament for students and professors in science whose proceeds will all go towards Shinerama! A great way to get to know some professors in a fun environment.
Here are the details:
Price: 60$ which will include 18 holes and a BBQ steak dinner! (vegetarian option available)
When: October 2nd,2010
Where: Nation view golf course
How am I getting there? Free bus transportation from campus!
What if I'm lazy/really like golf carts? Carts are available at 30$ a cart
What if I'm not so good at golf/have never played before but still want to play? No worries! It's a 4-person scramble.
Want to come but don't want to golf? You can hang around for the day and be a caddy for only 40$. Spend the day on the course with everyone and get to know the profs and other students and then enjoy the BBQ dinner too.
We'll also have games at select holes and some chances to win prizes. Our top prize? A free ski trip to Mont Tremblant which the SSA plans in January!

Want to raise more money for Shinerama? If you collect pledges that amount to 100$ or more, then your game and dinner will drop from 60$ to 36$ and you'll be helping a great cause!
REGISTRATION:
Registration deadline is September 27th.
You can register by bringing in your cheque or cash and filling out a form at one of the following locations:
Science Students’ Association (Marion Hall, Room 023 Ottawa, K1N 6N5).
The Deans Office, Faculty of Science (Rm 130 Marion Hall)
The office of the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Immunology (Rm 4102 Roger Guindon Hall)
Cheques should be made out to: University of Ottawa Science Students' Association and may be post-dated to September 27th.

Tournament Details
Date: Saturday, September 18th
Time: 9:00-16:00
Location: uOttawa Montpetit Gym
Registration opens August 26th
Early Bird special: $15/person until September 3rd
Regular: $20/person
Pay through website using Paypal
All proceeds go to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Each team gets:
2 qualifier games to 11 points
4 round robin games to 21 points
Playoffs:
Playoff games will be refereed by volunteers. The number of teams that make the playoffs will depend on the number of teams registered.
Rules:
Minimum of 6 players per team upon registration (minimum 2 of opposite sex per team).
Teams may play with 5 players. If a team does not have 5 players 5 minutes after their game has begun the opposing team may take claim the win or play the game despite the lack of players.
Common Volleyball Canada Indoor Rules will apply. Rules will be outlined at tournament sign-in.

Philanthropic/Shine Events

May 24th - Bottle drive! -->We raised $188! A HUGE thanks to all who participated!
May 29th - Great glebe garage sale -->We raised $269.60, great job shiners!
June 11th - Sucker run 10pm -->The total from our 6 shiners --> $495.81!!
July 1st - Canada day-->$117.37! Thank you to all who participated, it is greatly appreciated! :)
July 9th - Sucker run -->$32, from Michael and Emily's bottles. Woo!
July 17th - Another sucker run?-->$382.27!! Awesome!!!
July 23rd - Hull BBQ-->$170! Great for a trial run!!
July 37th - Loonie toonie mile -->$132.35!!! WOOOOO
