Bonjour à tous ! Je m’appelle Justin Bejjani et je me présente pour devenir votre représentant en biotechnologie dans l’Association des étudiants en sciences (SSA). En tant que représentant, ma priorité absolue sera de veiller à ce que la voix des étudiants en biotechnologie soit entendue et qu’elle influence activement les décisions du conseil.

Entamant ma cinquième année, j'apporte une compréhension approfondie et vécue des contraintes académiques propres à notre programme, qu'il s'agisse des horaires de laboratoire exigeants ou des doubles exigences des sciences et de l'ingénierie. Ce programme a marqué mon parcours universitaire, et je souhaite apporter ma contribution à notre communauté. En tant que représentante parfaitement bilingue, je veillerai à ce que chaque étudiant puisse s'exprimer dans la langue officielle de son choix. Ma participation au conseil de l'AÉS au cours de l’année dernière m’a permis d’acquérir les connaissances pratiques nécessaires en matière de gouvernance étudiante pour transformer les préoccupations des étudiants en actions concrètes, sans passer par une phase d’apprentissage.

Si je suis élu, je m’engage à : (1) renforcer notre communauté en organisant des tables rondes académiques ciblées et des événements de réseautage mettant en relation les étudiants de toutes les années scolaires avec des étudiants des années supérieures et les professeurs, afin de partager des conseils sur les cours, la recherche et les parcours professionnels ; (2) assurer une représentation accessible et transparente en proposant des permanences dédiées et un canal de retour d’information ouvert afin que vos préoccupations soient systématiquement prises en compte ; et (3) combler le fossé entre les départements en assurant une communication active entre les étudiants et l’administration pour garantir que les retours sur les cours et les conflits d’horaires débouchent sur des solutions concrètes.

Hi everyone! My name is Justin Bejjani, and I am running to be your Biotechnology Representative on the Science Students’ Association (SSA). As your representative, my top priority is ensuring that biotech voices are heard and are actively shaping decisions of the council.

Entering my fifth year, I bring a deep, firsthand understanding of our program's unique academic pressures, from rigorous lab schedules to the dual expectations of science and engineering. This program has shaped my university experience, and I am eager to give back to our community. As a fully bilingual representative, I will ensure every student can be heard comfortably in the official language of their choice. Serving on the SSA council this past year has given me the working knowledge of student governance needed to turn student concerns into real action, without the learning curve.

If elected, I will (1) strengthen our community by hosting targeted academic panels and networking events connecting students across all years with upper-years and professors to share advice on courses, research, and career paths; (2) provide accessible, transparent advocacy by maintaining dedicated drop-in hours and an open feedback channel so your concerns are consistently addressed, and (3) bridge the departmental gap by actively communicating between students and administration to ensure course feedback and scheduling conflicts lead to concrete solutions.

Salut les étudiants en biotechnologie ! Je m'appelle Emilia et je suis en troisième année de biotechnologie. Cette année, je me présente au poste de représentante en biotechnologie de l’AÉS.

Mes principaux objectifs pour 2026-2027 :

  1. Renforcer la communauté étudiante en biotechnologie en organisant davantage de collaborations et d'événements interdisciplinaires

  2. Renforcer la collaboration entre les associations étudiantes (comme l’AÉGC et l’AÉG)

  3. Développer les occasions de réseautage avec l'industrie, les anciens étudiants et les professeurs

  4. Défendre les intérêts des étudiants en biotechnologie auprès de l’AÉS et de la faculté

  5. Créer un article promotionnel du programme que vous adorerez porter !

Hey Biotechs! My name is Emilia Wesolkowski, and I’m in my third year of biotech running for the Biotechnology Rep position on the SSA this year.

Aidan Eiselt

Bonjour Science! Je m'appelle Aidan Eiselt, je suis étudiant en troisième année de biotechnologie et je me présente cette année au poste de représentant en biotechnologie au sein du conseil de la SSA!

Ayant terminé mes deux premières années d’études à temps plein tout en conciliant les cours, plusieurs séances de laboratoire chaque semestre et un emploi à temps partiel, je comprends bien les défis auxquels les étudiants en biotechnologie sont confrontés. En dehors de mes études, je suis passionné de musique ; je me produis sur scène à Ottawa depuis plusieurs années et j'ai même eu l'occasion d'organiser divers événements caritatifs! J’espère pouvoir mettre à profit les compétences relationnelles acquises grâce à ces expériences dans mon rôle de représentant du programme de biotechnologie cette année !

Hi science! I’m Aidan Eiselt and I’m in my third-year of Biotechnology, and I’m running for the Biotechnology representative position on the SSA’s council this year!

Having made it through the first two years of full-time school balancing class work, multiple labs a semester, as well as part-time work, I know what it's like handling the load that biotech students take each semester. Outside of school, I enjoy music, where I’ve played live in Ottawa for a number of years, even organizing multiple charity events along the way! I hope to get a chance to use the skills I’ve learnt by connecting with people as your Biotech representative this year!
